Surrendering to Love-Yourself

Are you in love with your life? Do you wake up each morning ready to approach your life with love?

I believe you are here on Earth for one reason, and that is to show love and be love. So how do you show love and be love? You first must love Yourself (capitalization intended) and I don't mean an ego kind of love where you boast about how much you have accomplished, where you live, what schools you have attended. None of this matters in loving yourself. In the same breath it does not matter if you feel you have accomplished nothing in your life. Both of these thoughts are thoughts of the ego. I am great. I am not great.

To love yourself you need to Surrender all of this and love the naked truth of who you are. You are a beloved child of the Universe. Say to yourself, I AM, and nothing more. Love I AM. Breath in the feeling of I AM. Let go of all the thoughts of who you think you are, who others think or want you to be. Let go of ALL need to be anything other than I AM. When you are able to take away all of the should have's, could have's, want to's, and just live in the precious moment of your life called now, then you are in the state of Surrender, you are love, and you are showing love to others.

As I sit here today, when I let my ego take hold, when I live as though "things" matter, than I block the very connection to Spirit that I so long for.

My ego:

I would like to finish this newsletter. I would like to take a long hot bath. I would like my house to be spic and span. I should go to my sister in laws baby shower. I should make my house spic and span. I should finish this newsletter. It should be the most inspiring newsletter ever written. If only I was more spiritual, a better writer...,it would be the most inspiring newsletter ever written.

Do you ever hear your ego saying these kinds of things throughout your day? If not, I applaud you. There are few of us able to stop the constant mind chatter of the ego. Let me make it perfectly clear. The mind chatter of the ego is NOT about love, rather it is about everything that is not love. It is about fear, hopelessness, lack, need, want, sickness and so much more.

Lack of self love is the biggest threat to our very existance. It is bigger than any terrorist group or natural disaster, for without self love we are building our house on sand. If we don't love ourselves than we look to others to love us. We look to buy things that make us feel loved. We look to conquer countries and build bigger buildings and faster cars. We are constantly searching for that one thing that will fill the deep hole within ourselves that can only be filled by our love for ourself.

Our world would change in a dramatic fashion if we all started loving ourselves in the state of I AM and stopped worrying about everything else. If we were to Be happy and in love with ourself in all moments of our life, no matter what it holds.

Give it a try this month, this month of February, this month of love. Take 1, 2 or 5 minutes out of your day and be with yourself. Hold nothing to yourself except love. If this is too much for you, that is OK too. Don't let your ego get the best of you. Surrender to all states of your Being. There is no race to the finish. Someday we will ALL love ourselves as God loves us.
