Good News: It Just Might Be A Woman's World

Let's take a moment to consider the not so good news.

Remember the cigarette commercials that claimed, "You've come a long way, Baby"? Well, unless you are Oprah, women know that there is still a long way to go. Women make 75 cents an hour less than men. That discrepancy widens as woman move up the corporate ladder. There is still a glass ceiling. Most women advance until they hit that ceiling, and look longingly, like the proverbial child at the candy store, at what is just out of their reach. Maybe they long for more, or maybe they wished that they could be home with their kids, or doing something they always dreamed of, like owning a gym. However, those are just dreams because most woman are stuck in jobs where they are unappreciated, underpaid, overworked, and trapped. Sure there are more women succeeding, but they are the minority, and they often paid a heavy price for their success. Women have also discovered that the glamor of career is less about sparkle and more about drudge. The reality they find in the work place does not look anything like their childhood dreams.

Like a lot of men, women are stressed, overworked, fatigued, long to escape the rat race, feel guilty about not spending more time with their kids and family, and are genuinely dissatisfied. Women nearing retirement age realize there is not enough to retire comfortably. Some see no way of retiring, unless they are willing to live in abject poverty.

Can you identify? If so, be of good cheer, for there is good news!

Network Marketing is an ideal business for women. Not only can women be independent, set their own hours, work from home, have more time for family, do something satisfying, and make a lot of money, it is rewarding, satisfying, and FUN. Women who are wondering how they can afford to retire find that network marketing is a perfect vehicle for creating residual income. Retirement starts looking brighter. Business can be done full-time or part-time. It can be just about anything a woman wants. What could be better?

Of course men do well at network marketing, but it is common that the top income earners in network marketing companies are women. I hope that you are asking, "Why?" because I am dying to tell you why.

Network Marketing is about helping people, about networking, and about creating relationships. Things most women are good at doing. Not only are we good at doing these things, we like these things. We have been taught since childhood to be networkers. Network Marketing is not like working in the business world, or in education, or for the government. It is different because the focus is on people, on finding needs, and meeting those needs, and on working as a team. Zig Ziglar says, "The best way to get what you want is to help other people get what they want." This isn't just a catch phrase; it's what good networkers do. It is network marketing at its best.

Here's a true story to illustrate: My sister picked up a magazine and read an article on losing weight. The article recommended a book. She bought the book, got excited, and told me about it. I bought the book. I got excited and told my daughter and a friend at work. And, yes, you guessed: they both went and bought the book. The first week on the diet, my sister and I both lost about 7 pounds. We were walking advertisements for the book. Word of mouth advertising, networking, works.

If you are looking for a change, ready to do your own thing, and making money while having control of your life, check out network marketing. Be prepared for making friends, meeting people, and generally having a good time. A word of caution: do some research before plunging into network marketing. Not all companies are created equal. You want to find a company that is solid and gives excellent training. The training is key. My article "Clueless About Network Marketing?" gives some basic guidelines for selecting a company. It is on the net, do a search. Once you are set and ready to dance, be prepared for an exciting new life.
